The other day I went to the Zoo,
With my friend and her sister too,
I saw the caged tiger,
Black and yellow striped,
And then, from my eye,
A tear i wiped.
How free he was in the forest, I thought,
How poor, I felt, was now his lot.
He could not move freely, according to his will,
HE could not himeself hunt, anymore his kill.
How insecure he must be, in a different atmosphere, a different air,
Noises blaring all the time, here, there and everywhere.
Not a bit like his old home, this place must be,
With so many people all around, it must be a strange sight for him to see.
Humans, please, leave animals alone,
For they too have feelings, and are not just a stone.
They too feel lonely without their allies,
So please, let their minds be free, let them sleep under the skies.
